The Tweed Artisan Food Weekend has launched with gusto and is a showcase of what the Tweed has on offer from the red soil up.
A selection of farmers, producers, chefs and eateries are collaborating for a long weekend of culinary delights. From on farm experiences to cooking workshops to curated long table events.
Celebrated chefs team up with local producers to pop up tasty offerings in picturesque locations from the Coast to the Valley. The Tweed River will come alive with local indigenous culture and storytelling -whilst tasting a bounty of local produce and beverages along the way.
In a year that has presented itself with challenges particularly in the hospitality, tourism and events sectors we are thrilled that Destination Tweed can provide a platform for members and community to gather and celebrate the diversity of the Tweed.
We pay homage to our members behind the organisation who have come together to show their support for the industry body that is run by an independent board of volunteers and casual staff.
The organisation sustains from the financial support and passion of the operators who call the Tweed home. The Tweed Artisan Food Weekend is a collaboration of the people that make up this colourful community.
There’s something for everyone from on farm tours to pasta making to coffee grinding, along with a unique selection of bespoke pop up events that showcase the natural food bowl of the Tweed. The rich red volcanic soil of Northern NSW produces some authentic food offerings indigenous to the land-from baked goods, to farm cheese, to fruit and vegetables to small goods.
But wait there’s more, the Tweed spirits are alive with botanical gin, agricole rum and craft beer rich with the regions fruitful terroir.
