Whilst the world has been in ISO and we’ve all had time to take a breath, Destination Tweed has been actively seeking ways that they can connect Tweed producers straight to your door.

We’ve welcomed on board new members like The Spanish Catering Co & Common Thread Style, who join an eclectic mix of farmers, foodies and accommodation providers.

We also launched a new Instagram Live weekly ‘Producer Series’ where we check in with our members and the broader community. Collaborations with businesses have been going strong from developing seasonal charts to feeding those in need.

We recently partnered with Griffith University dietitian students, Tweed Shire Council and the local Murwillumbah Farmers Markets to actively research and develop a seasonal produce chart for the Tweed. The chart will give everybody access to what’s growing at what times- a welcome addition for foodies and chefs.

Collaborating with OZ Harvest makes our heart sing and we were thrilled when they asked us if we could connect them with chefs and restaurateurs to produce meals for those in need. The Tweed Bowls Club has generously offered to provide their chefs and kitchen to cook the meals, with food groups like PLB interested as well.

These types of partnerships fill a need in regional areas and we are starting to realise the fruits of our labour – as an industry organization it takes individuals to put their hand up for it to be successful.

Another great project in the works from member ‘Mems Soul Foods’ is an exciting TV series being produced in and around the Tweed- all about people and their journey with food.

We can’t think of a better time to be grounded in the Tweed, an abundance of fresh produce delivered to your door and members like Stone & Wood and Husk Distillery keep us well watered with innovative drive thru options.
