The Tweed has a penchant for food, really good fresh local food and the good news is we have it in abundance. From the valley farms to the coastal eateries the region is fast becoming a leading culinary destination.

The ‘Tweed Artisan Food Weekend’ launches with gusto on Friday 13th March and what better way to open the event than a tasting and tour of local brewery Stone & Wood. If swooning the Tweed River and sipping Ink Gin is more your jam we’ve also got you covered with a Mount Warning Tour as they cruise from bakery to distillery.

We’ve planned a tiptop weekend tasting the flavours of the Northern Rivers, meeting producers and eating until your stomachs content. The signature long lunch at the glorious garden kitchen of Potagers at Carool is set to be a meeting of food (and beverage) minds. Conversation will flow over local seafood, cheeses and spirits- the drinking type.

There’s an indigenous walkabout tour of the sacred Fingal headland and the thriving native bush spices, followed by a sumptuous lunch and gallery tour at Sheoak Shack.

Topped off brilliantly with a ‘Death by Advocado’ garden lunch soiree showcasing the exotic fruits of Tropical Fruit Worlds labour. Think ink and book into the exclusive gin and rum tasting event at Husk Distillery tastefully paired with local grazing platters.

Destination Tweed has gathered some of the finest farmers, producers and restaurateurs the region has on offer a showcase of the Northern Rivers from the farm to the table.
